Are you feeling BLUE now that your college kid is back at school?  I know I am and was looking for something fun to send.  I’ve seen a few different versions of the “Blue without You” care package on Pinterest, but decided to put a gift card spin on it.   Because, let’s face it, a college kids’ favorite things to get are GIFT CARDS!    

I gathered up a few favorite blue packaged snacks and treats and added gift cards from favorite places around campus. (Sharable snacks are fun for the roommates, too.)  I tried to stay with the blue theme for the gift cards, but that was kind of difficult.  So, I added blue paper as a card holder with a note on the back of each gift card.  For example, I wrote:  

  • For when you need a sweet treat (Dairy Queen),  
  • For when you need a break from the cafeteria (Chipotle),  
  • For when you need a pick me up (Starbucks) 

This idea was fast, EASY and my college kid loved it! (and so, did the roommates).
